The Nocturnal Creatures sleep
Until the Time Comes again
To spread Destruction apon the land

Sealed for it's crime
The Dark One wakes
Seeking its revenge
For the Loved One lost.

Once a great King,
Now a great Rival
The Blue Moon must return
Or all shall be Endless Night.

Prologue

Thentos moved quickly, rushing the other dragons. Nothing seemed to be going right and things just got worse every day. Most of the dragons were mounted at their posts, but they were all worried and complaining to one another. As always, the only ones staying calm were Lucifer, Phantom, Souluss, and the rest of the dragons that barely spoke at all. Phantom did talk, but whenever she did, no one seemed to listen, they all thought she was a daranged lunatic. Oreon and Aragon both normally would talk, but they knew better than to do so.
Thentos looked to Sabyne for a bit of encouragement, but all she did was sigh. She too was getting tiered of the dragon's bickering. Lucifer and Souluss both looked as if they had had enough and were going to shoot the next person who spoke.
"Be quiet.1" Oreon finally shouted, surprisingly being the first to loose his temper. The ice dragon looked at everyone angrily except those who has been silent. "Arguing and complaining isn't going to help us at all, and it's not going to fix anything so why don't all of you shut up."
Thentos looked at Oreon. "Thank you," he said sighing. "He's right, if we want things to get better, we're going to have to figure out something that will actually work. We have no idea where these creatures came from, or how to destroy them. They seemed to be immune to most elements, but it seemed that light and fire were the only attacks that actually damaged the, but unfortunately, we only have so many of those specific types of dragons. Malichie's army has already been lowered in nubers because of their attacks. With as many as there are of them, it's going to take a lot more dragons then we may have to get rid of them.He turned to Lucifer as the red dragon looked to the white dragon Malichie, "How many dragons do you have that can be used in battle?"
"Many," he said turning away from the white dragon whose army had failed, "approximately six-hundred."
"Then we can use yours and possibly Horon's, if his dragons are still ok and prepared to battle."
"They are," the sun dragon said, "and few are injured."
Thentos looked at the other worried dragons.
"But what can the rest of us do?" Wadra asked wanting to participate, also being worried about the safety of her home.
All the other dragons who had not been mentioned to take place in this event nodded in agreement, wondering how they could help, even if their power of the elements wasn't enough.
Thentos thought for a moment. The dragons weren't useless and he knew this, but with something like this, he didn't exactly know how they could help.
"Maybe we could set up a trap of some sort, so the fire dragons can get rid of the creatures faster, and with a better chance of success," Aragon spoke up, trying to help his mentor. "If we can lour the species that threatens our land into an enclosed area, the dragons could cause some sort of explosion so all of them should be whipped to oblivion. The only thing we will have to worry about is making sure we get all of them in one blow....., and making sure we don't get hurt, or added to that explosion."
Thentos sighed with relief. "Sounds like a good plan to me. Agreed?"
The dragons all nodded their heads in agreement, but some were still worried that the plan would not be successful as everyone hoped it to be.
"But where will be ambush them that will not endanger our kingdoms?" Lumos asked, looking over his hsoulder at the magic dragons he ruled. "If we try to drive them somewhere, they may trample our homes, and we still do not know the intelligence of these creatures, so what if they find out what we are trying to do and go off course? We may want to think of something else what will not put so many kingdoms at risk."
"True, we will lead them to a small canyon close to Lucifer's kingdom," Thentos said ready to take the plan into action, "but we can leave ten percent of every army at their kingdoms to ensure that if it does happen, there will be defenders to hold them off long enough for us to return. As for your other comments about their intelligence, we will have to hope they are not that smart, because the only way to actually find out would be to let them stay longer, and if we did that, we would only put Spira in more danger."
Alright, can we just get moving?" Nathiel said impatient as always, his green wings moving up and down in annoyance as he spoke. "We have a plan that should work and get rid of these, these things so chit chatting isn't going to make them go away any faster."
"He's right," Wadra spoke, still only thinking of her homelands. "We should start at once."

Nightfall came as the dragons prepared for the creatures return. Some still felt uncertain of the plan they had come up with earlier and wishing they had a better one.
Thentos sat on a large bolder as the rest of the dragons neared Rigoroth, the Icekingdom of Oreon. The creatures were spotter here the other night and all of the dragons who were taking part in this section of the plan hoped they would emerge from the snow tonight, the way they had before. Quickshot was waiting for them to show so he could get their attention, along with the rest of his dragons. Lightning seem to have some affect on the creature, but not as much as fire and light did.
Lucifer was gone where he was ready to take part in the plan at the canyon where they were leading the creatures, his army with him and ready to fight. A few lights had stayed behind just in case things went wrong.
A loud, horrible screech echoed through the night as the creatures started to race out of a hole in the rocky earth. Lucifer could hear blasting from as far away as Oreon's kingdom, obviously the creatures had emerged from there too.
The dragons took off to the air while still avoiding them as much as possible.
The creatures began to screech with frustration, angry at the dragons attempt to stop their rampage.
None of the dragons actually knew what they were, but they knew they wanted them out and fast. They had destroyed a lot, and all the dragons knew was that they only came out at night. From what Lucifer could see, they looked like something from a nightmare. They stood on two feet, but had claws similar to a bears; their skin was darkly colored, and their eyes blood red. They had some sort of shield-like thing around their neck that looked some-what like it was a fin, but no one ever got close enough to actually tell. They had scales, like a dragon, but they were much harder so they were more difficult to penetrate. As for the rest of their body, that wasn't going to be found out about any time soon, as long as the plan actually worked.
Oreon's ice dragons started shooting at them, across from Lucifer's army, allowing them to chase the dragons as they slowly started to move backwards towards their destination. The creatures could fire elements from their mouths just like dragons could so the dragon were staying high in the air, but close enough to aim and hit the targets.
The creatures started fireing back, the elements mostly consisting of darkness. Wadra and Sabyne seemed to be taking most damage. They were lower to the ground, but definitely getting the creatures attention.
Now, both the creatures and the dragons were starting to move and everything seemed to be going as planed. The creatures were avoiding the kingdoms and aiming at the massive army of dragons.
Thentos was having just as much trouble back at his spot, he sent a large shot of Moonlight (light powers more or less) strait in the center of the creature's army, causing them to speed up their progress of getting them to the canyon. All the dragons were more retreating now rather than fighting, the nocturnal creatures still following thinking they had won.
Wadra started to shoot more relieved that everything was working. She didn't want anything to go wrong now.

Finally, they were at the canyon. Only a fwe more feet and they would be toast, as long as the creatures actually got close enough to be pushed in and sent into smithereens.
Reasha, the dragon of the wind sent a large gust of air at the dragons, sweeping some of them off their feet, and the ones who didn't budge would only need to be shot. Reasha seemed to have a bad feeling about all that was taking place.
All the dragons started to fire at once as everyone got excited about the end of the creatures.
Thentos grinned, happy that the dragons had come out triumphant and everything was going right.
Aragon suddenly went flying through the air. His back hit a large bolder close to Thentos and blood dripped as he slowly rose in agony.
"Look!" he shouted slightly tipping because of his injuries.
Thentos turned his head in the direction Aragon was looking.
"Uh oh," Thentos mumbled under his breath as the rest of the dragons turned their attention towards the rocky plains. A large army of the creatures were now coming up from the fields where a small hill had been. Now there were two times the amount and they were starting to fire. The ones who had gotten close to the canyon moved away. Apparently they had set a trap for the dragons just as the dragons had hoped to do. They were now firing at the dragons at full force, causing the dragons to back up and slwoly start to retreat as they took much damage to themselves. The dragons were bewildered as even more creatures came, as if their numbers were unlimited.
"What should we do?" Oreon shouted from a distance to the others.
From Lucifer's spot, he was having just as much trouble as everyone else, maybe iven more. It seemed the creatures learned from their mistkaes and now knew which dragons threatened them the most. So they were going after the only three types of dragons that could penetrate their skin.
Thentos started to panic. This was going horribly wrong and things were only getting worse as more of the nocturnal creatures came. The dragons were being swarmed even with well over one-thousand dragons, things weren't getting any better.
Sabyne was over a large distence away from the rest of the dragons, but knew things weren't good. She flew towards the army closest to tThentos and Lucifer, "Full back!"
Thentos looked up seeing her fly above and yelled the same thing, seeing no other choice. Unless they wanted to loose more dragons, they would have to leave and regroup, but if they were to do so, then chances are their homes would be in terrible danger and quickly too, but even if the dragons went back to their kingdoms, they wouldn't win. All the dragons would have to be ordered to retreat and leave their homes.
Thentos shook his head sadly. This was going to be a night of destruction that would be reWolfed for a long time.

Dragons were mingling and bickering, worried sick about the health of their homes and what the outcome of the war would be.
Thentos and the other Dragonlords still did not know how the creatures even got into their world. Koronoes, the dragon of Seals put a spell that would prevent anything from going in or out of this world. Spira only belonged to the dragons and a few other magical creatures so some must have let them in, or left the gate open for that matter.
Thentos stood on a small ledge in the cave the dragons had retreated to. It was small, and everyone was crammed tightly together.
The Dragonlords were up with Thentos, discussing the matter and trying to develope another solution to get rid of the creatures that hopefully would be more successful then the last fight, but a few, like Wadra were starting to believe the dragons should flea Spira and find a new home, somehwere where there would be no gate so nothing dangerous could get through and harm anything.
Thentos turned around from his view of the other dragons, and walked slowly back to the Dragonlords.
"So, any other ideas that might help us get rid of these pests?" Thentos asked looking at the troubled dragons. Everything seemed hopeless, but they couldn't give up their homes yet.
"No," Sabyne said, her head low to the ground, "but we are still working on it."
Wadra looked at her brother, Oreon in search of hope. He always had some kind of plan made, even in situations like this, but this time, he had remained silent.
Thentos sighed. Not even Nathiel seemed to be happy, and that dragon was always happy and smiling.
Sabyne seemed to be the one affected the most by the tragedy, her head was only two inches off the ground, and her tail was not aloft like most dragons would hold it. Her eyes were dull with sadness.
Thentos looked to the other dragons. Phantom didn't seem to be affected at all. She was sitting there stiff and alert, like normal. Manisha was showing much of the same thing. Thentos didn't know how dragons like Manisha and Phantom could act as if nothing happened at a time like this.
"What are we going to do now?" Nathiel asked sympathetically. "We can't just stay here while our home is being destroyed, and right now that's exactly what we are doing. If we stay down here, there isn't going to be a home left for us to go back to."
All the dragons looked up, feeling the same way. Even Phantom seemed to be paying attention. All the dragons couldn't even think of what would happen. Not having a home meant a lot to all the dragons, and they dind't know where else they would go. Spira wouldn't be standing much longer, and already they lost a lot of their dragons, ones that were close to others, making certain dragons wish to die, as if their life was over.
"Nathiel is right, we can't stay here, but what can we do right now? There is nothing we can do until we come up with a plan, and right now, that seems unlikely. There were so many of them. If there were less of them, things would be a lot easier," Lumos said looking to all the other sulking dragons.
Thentos sighed, nothing was going to work, there were far too mahy of them. Thentos looked to sabyne, who was for some unbelievable reason, smiling.
"Sabyne?" Thentos asked clueless.
"Lumos gave me enough information to know what to do," Sabyne said cheerfully as the other dragons seem to suddenly come back to life. "We need to get them to separate herds, with long destances in between them. If we do that, we can take out them in small numbers until it starts to have a big effect. The only problem will have is making sure there aren't too many in one group, and to keep the targeted herd away from everything else. Then the fire and light dragons can take thme down, while the rest of us keep them from leaving. Think your dragons can handle it Lucifer?"
Lucifer grinned slightly. "Why wouldn't they be able to?"
"Horon? Malichie?" Thentos asked grinning cheerfully.
The two dragons nodded.
"This may work, but now without a price," Phantom said out of nowhere, as if her opinion was requested. She was now sitting silently on a ledge of the cave, looking at the other dragons, as if she had not said anything at all.
"What is that suppose to mean?" Sabyne said angrily. Sabyne's hate for Phantom always seemed to grow, especially because of her smart mouth.
"Do you really think that all of this is going to take place without the slightest bit of a mistake? Something precious will be lost either way, the price we must pay to get our home back," Phantom said glairing at the angered sky dragon.
"That's it, she's lost it," Nathiel commented, semi quietly, just loud enough for most of the dragons to hear except Phantom.
A few of the dragons chuckled slightly, while Thentos only shook his head worriedly. When it came to times like this, Phantom was always right.
"Then we will have to hope for the best," Wadra said with glee, always looking to the positive side of things. (unless it delt with Nathiel)
"So when do we strike?" Ronso asked, his thirst waiting to be quenched with blood.
"Soon," Thentos said. "We will have to inform the dragon armies first."

The first set of dragons shot up into the sky, ready to fight. The dragons were separated into six groups of eight thousand. Two of the sets were going to set a group of the creatures away from the others, while the other four sets made sure that they kept the rest of the army away from them.
Ice, fire, and earth all went one way, to go around the army, while the others went straight through it.
Wadra sighed, still wondering what sacrafice must be paid to get their homelands back. She couldn't imagine what would happen if it was one of their friends, but the way Phantom spoke of it, it was going to be of great significance. What would they do if it was a Dragonlord? They had never lost a dragon by fight, but only by age, and by then, the dragon would have bestowed it's knowledge to another dragons of its kind.
'It will work out ok," Oreon said from behind her, getting ready to leave for his part of the plan.
"I hope so," Wadra said as he turned and shot into the air with his dragon army. "Be safe brother."

(It's not done yet, but that's all I have typed at the moment. I have pictures to back up the dragons if you want to see them. http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/N....ents/?start=all )

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
